A short and sweet update to everyone getting ready for our season. A bug has been brought to my attention which requires the usage of petty cash in matches to be made illegal for BASH matches until a solution is found. What is happening is What is happening is that when a coach transfers gold from their treasury into the petty cash fund the gold removed from the treasury is not being reflected in the league application after the match is over. That would make buying inducements with petty cash essentially free, which is why petty cash needs use needs to be banned for now. This means that you can only purchase inducements with the inducement gold that is granted for free to your team for having a lower team value than your opponent. (IE: Only one team should be able to purchase inducements) You can find the archive for this ruling in the miscellaneous rulings section of this site, under Coach Resources, where it will remain until the bug is fixed and petty cash may be used again. When that time comes an update will be released informing all coaches about that as well.
We’re now a week away from the beginning of the Spring 2010 season of BASH. First a quick reminder to those of you who’ve registered but haven’t registered your teams to get that done before our start date on March 1st. It’s been a busy week getting ready for the start of our season. First of all a big thank you to the folks over at Groovy Gecko’s Comics & Games up in Williamsburg for their support to the league. They join the ranks of Tower of Games, Atlantis Comics, and World’s Best Comics who’ve been getting the word out about the league to players across the area. Speaking about getting the word out, some of you maybe have noticed that BASH is now on Facebook too. If you’ve been considering joining but haven’t yet now’s the time to do so. We’ve got a good number of coaches already signed up and every single new addition to the league is just going to make the action that much more exciting.
It’s Valentines day and that means we’re two weeks away from the start of the Spring 2010 season of BASH. Now we’re not to give you something lame like a box of chocolates, but what were are giving you is something that might just keep your players from leaving the pitch in a box come March. That gift is the gift of Blood Bowl Tactics. Maybe you noticed the link on the sidebar or maybe you didn’t, but Blood Bowl Tactics is a site filled with articles to help seasoned veterans and newcomers alike to brush up on their game. It’s a great resource for anyone looking to improve their game and unlock their team’s potential.
Now don’t say we never gave you anything.
It’s February and the Spring 2010 season of BASH is fast approaching. March 1st is when the season starts, but here’s a peek at what awaits one lucky coach at the end of the grueling season: The Spring 2010 BASH Cup. This trophy is 9 in tall and 6 in long, and rests on a sturdy wooden base with letters ringed around it reading “BASH 2010″, the iconic lighthouse in the middle, and the 01 winged helmet crowning it all. The Spring 2010 BASH Cup will be out on display at Tower of Games so everyone can get their “eyes on the prize.” When the entire season is finally over this trophy will be awarded out to the winner of the BASH Cup, held at Tower of Games, where the top teams in the BASH Digital League will face off against each other for the glory of victory.
The Spring BASH Cup doesn’t just serve as something to put on your coffee table to prove to everyone that you’ve faced the best Hampton Roads had to offer and won. No it also provides in-game benefits to the winner of this prize that they may then take advantage of in future seasons with their cup-winning team. The benefits of winning the Spring BASH Cup are as follows.
1. The ability to pronounce “Norfolk” as “Nor-f*&$”
2. With the season over a random player from your team grows restless and enlists in the navy. The player returns to your team in time for the new season having learned a random skill from the table below from their time on deployment. (Reroll if the player already has the skill rolled on the table. If the player has all the skills on the table, too bad.) They also get “SR” placed in front of their name indicating their rank. This rank increases if the player should happen to gain this award again in the future.
