The BASH Cup
The BASH Cup is the name of two very important elements in the BASH league. The first is a live event held at Tower of Games where the top teams in the league compete against each other in a tournament to determine the championship for the season. The tournament includes the top four teams in the league if the league has six or more teams, or the top two if the league has five or less. Usually there is a $5 fee to attend the BASH Cup which includes drinks, lock-in attendance, and cyber-cafe usage. Often you can attend the BASH Cup for free by bringing food for the lock-in. There are special rules for BASH Cup matches, which are listed below. For more detailed information on a particular BASH Cup keep an eye on the news section where up to date information for each BASH Cup tournament will be posted.
The second is the trophy which is awarded to the champion who wins the BASH Cup tournament for that season. This trophy is not only a symbol of the coach’s victory but it also confers special benefits to that coach’s team. There are two BASH Cup each year, a spring and a fall one. The Spring and the Fall trophies both have their own unique look and each one provides different benefits. These benefits are listed below.
BASH Cup Special Rules
The BASH Cup represents the tournament played at the end of the BASH season, and that means there are some small differences between how regular season and BASH Cup games may be played to keep things in line with LRB5. Teams receive inducement gold as normal, however Mercenaries or Star Players may not be purchased as inducements. Also, the winnings for all games in the BASH Cup are doubled.
Games played in the BASH Cup cannot end in draws. If a match should end in a draw the results for the match are reported to the League Application, each coach downloads a fresh copy of their team, and then an overtime match is played, with the first team to score winning. Coaches may not level up players or purchase players between the regular and overtime game. The overtime match does not count for league stats, grant SPP, or have any other lasting effects that affects on the league other than deciding the winner. If no team scores in the overtime game then the winner will be whichever team had the greater ball possession percentage in the overtime game.
Trophy Options
The winner of the BASH Cup also receives recognition of their victory for all to see. The winner has the choice of either a trophy, helmet, or certificate, to be decided upon their victory. Please allow some time if choosing the helmet or the trophy, as certain parts for them must be ordered and they’re all custom built.
