Creating, or hosting, a Direct IP game is simple and easy to do. It does require you to do a few steps first to get ready. First, if you have a firewall you need to make sure the firewall will allow connections for Blood Bowl. Second, if you have a router, connect through a LAN, or have other network hardware that gives you an internal IP address you will need to forward port 16962, both TCP and UDP, to your computer. The next thing you will need is to know what your IP address. Since those behind a router will see their internal IP address when they try to check this an easy way to do this is to goto www.whatismyip.com. That will display to you the IP address that all other computers see you as on the internet. Now that you have that information you need tell your opponent what your IP address is.

LAN Game Setup

Once you have done all of this you’re ready to go into the Blood Bowl game itself and create the game. Launch the game and click on the “Multiplayer” option. From there click on the “Local Area Network” option. This will pull up the LAN Game Screen. On this screen you can set your name by changing the text in the box that says “Player Name” in the screen shot on the right. From here click on the “Host a Game” option in the lower right hand corner, then click the “Classic” game type. This will bring you to the LAN Game setup screen. On this screen you can give your game a name, but that won’t matter for a Direct IP game. You can also select the stadium you will play on. Click the “Create Game” button. You now need to tell your opponent that you have created a game and they need to connect to you. Once they have done this you will see a message stating they have connected in the chat box in the lower right hand corner. Once they have joined each of you will need to pick your teams from the drop down boxes and they you just click “Launch Game” to start your Blood Bowl Match.
